Medieval Fair in Silves

The Medieval Fair in Silves started last night with great success, the
public turnout was remarkable. Until the 15th you can visit one of the
oldest cities in the region and see some of the customs of times gone by
and visit the many local shops that are open until late this week, on
the eastern side of Rua Elias Garcia you can even taste and buy the
wines of "Marquês dos Vales".

A Feira Medieval de Silves arrancou ontem com grande sucesso, a adesão
do público foi notória. Até dia 15 visite esta que é uma das mais
antigas cidades da nossa região e conheça alguns dos costumes de tempos
que já lá vão e visitar as muitas lojas do comércio local que nesta
semana ficam aberta em horário extraordinário, no lado nascente da Rua
Elias Garcia pode mesmo provar e comprar os vinhos "Marquês dos Vales".

Harvest 2011

Yesterday marked the start of this years haverst. The grapes from the
plot with Verdelho were the first to be picked and after being left
overnight in the cooling chamber were transformed today. The colour of
the juice is very rich and it is very sweet and full of flavours and aromas.

Vindima 2011 – Ontem demos início à vindima deste ano. As uvas do talhão
de Verdelho foram as primeiras a serem colhidas e após passarem a noite
na câmara de frio foram hoje transformadas. A cor do seu sumo é muito
rica, sendo bastante adocicado e cheio de sabores e aromas.

FARM's First Day

The first day at Moncarapacho's FARM fair was quite successful with a
good number of visitors travelling to Moncarapacho to visit the many
stalls on-site, taste and buy the regional produce and local wines, of
which sadly only Quinta dos Vales was brave enough to be present, and
enjoy the live music and entertainment. Three more nights follow in this
very pleasant atmosphere.

O primeiro dia da feira FARM de Moncarapacho foi bastante bem sucedido
com um bom número de visitantes a deslocar-se para ver os muitos stands
presentes, provar e comprar os produtos e vinhos regionais, dos quais
apenas a Quinta dos Vales se dignou a marcar presença, e desfrutar da
música ao vivo e entretenimento. Seguem-se mais três noites nesta
agradável atmosfera.

FARM in Moncarapacho

The 21^st fair of arts, crafts, agriculture and leisure starts tonight and will end on Sunday, from 7pm to 1am. Quinta dos Vales will be on-site providing our usual refreshing wine tastings. Bento Ventura's elephant from the Passion art project will be exhibited as well. Free live music every night!

FARM em Moncarapacho – A 21ª feira de arte, artesanato, agricultura e recreio inicia-se hoje e termina no próximo domingo, das 19:00 à 1:00. Como habitualmente a Quinta dos Vales estará no local a oferecer refrescantes provas de vinhos. O elefante do Bento Ventura, parte integrante do projecto Passion, também será exposto no local. Todas as noites há música ao vivo grátis!

Globe Project 2012

The stress tests have been initiated yesterday to access the strength
and behaviour of the stainless steel structure which will support the 15
globes of KHSculptureGroup's next artistic installation. Technical
challenges have led us to make engineering changes to the original
project to add extra stability to the structure. Soon we will add the
globes for testing and let you know the results!

Projecto dos Globos 2012 – Os primeiros testes de resistência da
estructura foram iniciados com objectivo de testar o suporte onde serão
colocadas as 15 esferas do projecto mais recente do KHSculptureGroup.
Desafios técnicos levaram-nos a alterações de engenharia ao projecto
original de forma a aumentar a estabilidade da estructura. Em breve
colocaremos os globos para a testar e reportaremos os resultados!

ArtCatto's Private Viewing

Artist Karl Heinz Stock said about the success of last Saturday's
'Private Viewing' at The Keys in ArtCatto, Quinta do Lago's newest
gallery: "This event was certainly the cultural highlight of the still
young summer in the Algarve and attracted the 'who is who' of both art
professionals and art lovers. Gillian Catto's selection of sculptures
and paintings complemented each other perfectly in these excellent
settings and I look forward for future events of this class."

O artista Karl Heinz Stock disse sobre o sucesso da abertura privada no
passado sábado no The Keys na ArtCatto, a mais nova galeria na Quinta
dos Lago: "Este evento teve o maior destaque do ainda jovem Verão no
Algarve atraindo a "fina nata" dos profissionais e amantes de arte. A
selecção de Gillian Catto em esculture e pintura complementa-se
mutuamente na perfeição num ambiente excelente e aguardo com expectativa
por futuros eventos desta categoria."

Charity Golf Tournament at Vale da Pinta

Yesterday at Vale da Pinta was not about the winners, it was a charity
tournament aimed at raising money towards Associação Portuguesa da
Paralisia Cerebral. Many business, QdV included, contributed to the
cause donating products and services to be auction. At the end of the
day a staggering 6000 euros were raised to help the association's
efforts of building a new residence for brain paralysis afflicted children.

O torneio de ontem no Vale da Pinta não laureava vencedores, tinha o
objectivo de angariar fundos para a Associação Portuguesa da Paralisia
Cerebral. Várias empresas, incluindo a QdV, contribuíram com produtos e
serviços para o leilão. No final do dia um estrondoso valor de cerca de
6000 euros foram angariados para ajudar os esforços da associação em
construir uma nova residência para crianças afectadas pela doença.
